Is God of War: Ragnarok’s Release Date Delayed?

God of War: Ragnarok, the sequel to Sony’s excellent soft reboot of the God of War franchise is one of the main PlayStation titles that gamers have been looking forward to ever since its reveal.

The game has been announced for a 2022 release, but we’re more than half-way through the year and the release date is nowhere in sight. Sony has already delayed the game several times, both publicly and internally, as its developers deal with the pandemic and other production challenges.

While initially planned to release in 2022, several reports from the past few weeks have been claiming that the release date for God of War: Ragnarok may have been pushed to 2023. This combined with the fact that no official announcement for the exact release date was made has led to speculation that the game may indeed be delayed till next year.

In an industry where games spend years and years in development, it has become increasingly common for developers to postpone releases to provide gamers with a finished product. However, this might not necessarily be the case for God of War: Ragnarok. According to sources familiar with the game’s development, it is still planned for release this November, despite the recent reports of a delay.

Of course, these things are always subject to change, but as it stands, God of War: Ragnorak is still slated for release this year, with the developers reportedly targeting a November release date. As usual, Sony and PlayStation have yet to officially announce the release date, so it is best to take all this information with a grain of salt for now.
